ITV and BBC snooker presenter and commentator Rob Walker took time away from the
recent televised snooker in Manchester to visit the ward where Sorrelle received her
treatment at Royal Manchester Childrens Hospital.
Following the recent event with Jimmy White, Ken Doherty and Rob Walker where they
kindly signed a copy of our book which we later auctioned, Rob offered to visit the hospital
and true to his word he came along to join Sorrelle and deliver some gifts to the children
undergoing treatment on the ward.
Prior to the visit Sam Price, author of Small boat in a big ocean contacted Smyths Toys and
explained the coming visit, Smyths Toys were amazing and donated a £200 gift card which
allowed the purchase of 20 mini pool/billiard tables for the children.

Sorrelle escorted Rob around the ward taking turns to pass the tables to each child.
The day was a great success and allowed for a moment children to smile and play and
escape the relentless treatment they face. Sorrelle and I would like to take this opportunity to
thank the world of snooker for supporting our book and the ward and a huge thank you to all
the team at Smyths Toys for their gracious gift and warm hearts. Today the world of snooker
and Smyths toys helped us make a difference.
