The Small boat & The BBC….. “So good they aired it twice !!”

“The book with a local touch and a national reach”

When the Small boat approached the BBC to consider interviewing little did they know what was about to happen…….

On Wednesday 17th June at 12:30pm Sam and Gemma entered the studios of the BBC and gave a heartfelt account of the journey with Sorrelle and the creation of this very special book to help kids on a cancer ward. You can hear here the full live touching interview to the listeners of Manchester conducted with the wonderful Michelle Dignan from BBC Manchester Radio.

The response was lovely and yet more people got in touch to purchase their own copy of this special book and join the thousands of copies out there.

Then on Sunday 21st June something remarkable happened….. at 8pm the phone rings, it’s the BBC, “we would love to rerun your interview with your permission but this time on our “National coverage broadcast “Late Show” !! And so, at 10:13pm on Sunday 21st June this special book with a “local touch” achieved a “National reach” again with thanks to the wonderful Michelle Dignan, listen to this edited broadcast and hear the lovely comments Michelle makes about this special book to listeners across the UK.

Enjoy…………………

Thank you so much Linzi, I am so very proud of Gemma, she was so very nervous but was able to convey what we all went through so eloquently and it brought back the emotion of that time, it’s so important to us to help those children and families now walking those wards. Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and comment 🙏 Sam
